Research and Education in

Nanoelectronics and Spintronics

Welcome to the "Spin Lab" at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience at Chalmers University of Technology.

Our research aims for future generation of nanodevices that could become non-volatile, versatile, fast and capable of simultaneous data storage and processing; with less energy consumption. We perform research and education on Quantum device physics and Spintronic devices with Graphene, 2D semiconductors, van der Waals heterostructures of 2D materials, Silicon nanostructures, and Topological Insulators.

We develop novel approaches for nanofabrication in the state of the art clean room and set-up sensitive measurement techniques to exploit the spin degree of freedom of electrons in nanoelectronic devices. It is an international group with postdoc and PhD researchers and MSc students with backgrounds in physics, electrical engineering and nanotechnology.  The group is led by Associate Prof. Saroj Prasad Dash and is embedded in the Quantum Device Physics Laboratory.
